Alea Benedetto

Development & Scholarships Associate

Alea joined the Emily Griffith Foundation team in September 2023. A Colorado native, she was born and raised in Pueblo and earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Writing from the University of Colorado Denver. Her experience and employment prior to the Emily Griffith Foundation includes providing high-level customer service and support in the banking and dental industry as well as as an Event and Media Specialist for an industry-leading software company that serves as the platform for virtual town halls and meetings.

In her role at the Foundation as the Development & Scholarship Associate, Alea helps to support fundraising efforts and special projects, works closely with the Emily Griffith Technical College Business Services and Financial Aid teams to disburse scholarships, participates in data collection and reporting activities, as well as provides overall administrative support to the Emily Griffith Foundation team. 

Alea is passionate about education and empowerment and embraces the mission and vision of the Emily Griffith organization, which serves and supports students regardless of age, race, ethnicity, or economic standing. She also wholeheartedly believes that education and opportunity are essential in overcoming generational cycles of poverty. In her free time, she values time spent with her husband (and high-school sweetheart) James, daughter Luciana, son Jimmy, and beloved furry friends, Benny and Cruz. She also enjoys spending time with extended family and friends, reading, listening to music, going to concerts, attending her son’s sporting events, and watching football-specifically the Denver Broncos.
