Nursing Program supported by Anschutz Foundation

The Emily Griffith Foundation secured a $50,000 grant from the Anschutz Foundation at the end of 2014 to expand the Practical Nursing program at Emily Griffith Technical College. Thanks to the generous contribution, the program went from a single cohort of 25 to a full-time cohort of 36 students and a part-time cohort of 24 students, a 140% increase in enrollment. The new Health Sciences labs at 1860 Lincoln have also aided the expansion of the program. The new spaces are more efficient than our old labs and allow for the cohorts to rotate the classrooms and lab space in order to graduate more Health Care professionals.

The Anschutz Foundation contribution allowed us to enhance the Practical Nursing program through additional supplies and professional development.  Continual training and professional development ensures that our instructors are teaching students the most relevant skills and knowledge to meet advances in the health care field.

El Pomar Supports the College of Business and Technology

El Pomars’s generosity greatly benefited the College of Business and Technology at EGTC in 2015.  The El Pomar contribution enabled the College to invest in the latest instructional equipment. This equipment provides both faculty and students with the most advanced educational tools required for classroom and lab instruction, facilitating real-time interaction between instructor and student. For example, dual monitors enable students to view video lectures and work on their assignments at the same time (a requirement for completing eBook programs.) Laptops with docking stations for instructors allow faculty to maximize their face-to-face interaction with students while increasing classroom flexibility. The installation of whiteboards and projectors in each classroom allows faculty to visually enhance lectures and engage students in interactive assignments.
