Emily Griffith Technical College
In the summer of 2014, Emily Griffith Technical College (EGTC) moved to a new campus at 1860 Lincoln. The new building provides improved learning environments with more natural light and efficiently regulated temperatures. This campus (called the Emily Griffith Campus) houses EGTC’s Colleges of Business and Technology, Design Industries and Health Sciences as well as its administrative and faculty offices and the Emily Griffith High School. In addition, the space will be home to DPS administrative staff and the Downtown Denver Expeditionary School.
The move includes for relocating EGTC’s old campus to three new spaces in metro Denver. The main campus will be located at 1860 Lincoln. Two additional satellite locations will be located at 12th and Osage for EGTC’s College of Trades and Industry and 9th and Sherman for its Video Production and Editing classes.
EGTC’s old facility at 1250 Welton was literally bursting at the seams and its lack of space was impacting the ability of the institution to expand vocational programs. Moreover, the facility was showing its age and to retrofit the building in an effort to reduce operating inefficiencies would have proven more costly than moving into a more modern facility. More importantly, EGTC is excited to provide a viable, high quality, state-of-the-art learning environment for its students to reflect current conditions in the workplace.
